Additionally, there is a long history of fashion in West Africa. There was an exceptionally strong tradition of weaving in the Oyo Empire, and the areas inhabited by the Igbo people. As Secretariat for the APPG for Textiles and Fashion, and the APPG for Ethics and Sustainability, we represent the UK fashion and textile industry with the only two All-Party Parliamentary Groups for the sector. Our work relates to the fashion industry across manufacturing, design, retail, innovation, ethics and environmental.
